The Big Mistake in SEO Copywriting

Writing is a creative and individual act, which makes it all the more perplexing that so many people can make a common search engine optimization copywriting mistake: focusing too heavily on keywords.

Make no mistake – having the right search phrases in your content, particularly on places like page titles and headings, is important for attracting visitors to your website. But it’s important to remember that it’s not the only thing that matters and that too many keywords can drown out your marketing message.

This is partly because search engines are getting more sophisticated and don’t rely purely on keyword matches anymore. Google takes a lot of its information from context, meaning you don’t have to be so repetitive with your keywords and phrases. In fact, you can probably do better by mixing your copy up a bit, since long-tail searchers are becoming more and more prevalent.

More to the point though, actual buyers don’t like text with too much search engine optimization thrown in. Since your job is to convince buyers to buy, enhancing the SEO value of your page is important but secondary.

Don’t make the big mistake in SEO copywriting. Pay attention to keywords, but don’t focus on them so much that you write pages that aren’t persuasive and informative. As always, we are here to help you with our SEO consulting service.

What to Expect From Google in 2016 and Beyond

Trying to predict what Google do in the future can be a tricky task. Not only do they employ some of the world’s brightest minds, but they are notoriously tight-lipped about their business plans.

Still, by digging through past algorithm changes and recent public statements, there are a few things that come up again and again. Here is what we expect from Google in 2016 and beyond…

More Focus on Trusted Content Sources

There are too many people posting information and advice that just isn’t factual or trustworthy. Expect Google to start paying more attention to your credibility as an author or publisher in the near future.

Older Pages Dropping Off the Map of Indexed Search

With searchers preferring newer search results, it’s entirely possible that Google will de-emphasize (or even eliminate) older posts and pages in some categories.

A Bigger Priority on Quality and Originality

Google doesn’t just want keyword-rich content, it wants its users to find the best of the best. So expect that more emphasis will be put on quality and originality in search results.

The world of search, and search engine optimization, will likely be undergoing some big changes in the near future. Will your company be ready?

iPad Tip ~ How to log in to video home sharing

Cperky's Blog

Home sharing is a feature that, simply put, links all your devices and computers together.

If you download a video on your computer, it will instantly start downloading on your iPad if you have this feature turned on.

To enable it, go to Video -> Home Sharing, and enter your Apple ID and password. This will link your iPad into your Home Sharing link-up (you can later turn this off if necessary).

Have fun with your iPad!
